This statement covers the Realsmart website at realsmart.co.uk. Realsmart Learning Ltd runs it, and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. That means you should be able to:

  • reach every part of the site using just a keyboard
  • use the site with a screen reader

What we’ve done

On 2 October 2026 we updated the theme behind this website, which also runs our school websites, so that:

  • a “Skip to main content” link appears when you first press Tab
  • the main menu is announced once, as a labelled navigation area, instead of three times
  • drop-down menus open with Space or Enter, close with Escape, and tell screen readers whether they are open
  • the mobile menu moves keyboard focus into the panel and back again when it closes
  • the menu button, search boxes and icon-only links have names that screen readers read out
  • slideshows have a pause button for keyboard users
  • headings are announced in a sensible order

Cookie settings are offered on every page, with no tracking until you choose.

How accessible this website is

We haven’t yet had this website independently audited, so we don’t claim that it meets a particular level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). We know some parts may not be fully accessible:

  • some older PDF documents may not work well with screen readers
  • some images in older blog posts may not have text descriptions
  • some text on coloured or photographic backgrounds may not have enough contrast
  • some animated carousels may be hard to follow

Tell us about a problem

If you find something on this website hard to use, or you need information in a different format, tell us and we’ll help:

Please tell us the web address of the page and what the problem was.

School websites we build

This statement covers realsmart.co.uk only. Each school website we build has its own content and its own accessibility statement, which the school is responsible for. The accessibility improvements listed above reach every Realsmart school website at the same time.

About this statement

We prepared this statement on 26 October 2026. We’ll review it after our next accessibility check, and at least once a year.
